A new political party held a rally in the zocolo. Buses came from all over the country and marched down the streets. Thousands packed to zocolo for speeches.

Taking directions to find la merced we walk and walk and finally ask the policia for directions. They tell us about the Jamaica merced 5 km away. We must have worried them as they took us there in the back of the patrol car. And Steve was carrying a Modelo. And being as large as we are had a tough time getting out.

They told us to be careful. Of course, what could go wrong?

And we took the metro back to the hotel. Quite a feat.

We arrived in Mexico City without incident at 6 am Saturday. Taxi to Gran Hotel de Ciudad at  7 am exhausted. But must wait until afternoon to check in. After breakfast at the hotel headed out to the zocolo in time for the daily
Flag raising.
